Discover Our Story since 1987

Background Of the Company

Evergreen West Ltd started operations informally in 1987 and got certificate to commence business in 1989. This was the period that the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) had liberalized the economy to allow a freer system of securing foreign exchange and to import products into the country with less hindrances. Within the same period, the PNDC government made quite an investment in the Ghana Timber Industry thereby encouraging felling of hardwood trees and to obtain the needed foreign exchange in the country.

Evergreen was birthed around this period. The first company that Evergreen dealt with from 1987 was Stierman BV in the Netherlands. Stierman supplied Evergreen with Oregon branded products at the time. To be very relevant in the forestry cutting industry, Evergreen decided to source for complimentary products that were related to the Dolmar CT and Stihl 070 chainsaw machines which were prevalent in the Ghana industry at the time

The companies that Evergreen engaged to source for complimentary products included Tillotson (carburetors, repair kits), PFerd (round files, flat files), Oregon (saw chains, bars, rims) and Disortex – supply of Bosch plugs for chainsaw machines.
From 1992, Evergreen in its quest to include additional related products to its line, struck a very prosperous relationship with Precision Tooling and its president Lorenzo Seechi for the supply of complete line of spare parts for Dolmar CT and Stihl 070.

Partnership with Ducati | Carlton Saw

Evergreen around the same period (1990-1993) secured another partnership with Ducati for the supply of electronic parts for saw chains and others (magneto, flywheel etc.). Of all the products, the item that sold fastest was the saw chain. To be able to dominate the local market, Evergreen went on a search for a chainsaw brand that will be exclusive to Evergreen. Evergreen was successful and started distributing exclusively for the first time in West Africa, Carlton saw chain, Bars and related accessories from 1995.

Exclusive Distributor of Oregon Products - Blount Inc.

Evergreen performed so remarkably in the industry and dominated the market that it was approached by Blount Inc. to distribute Oregon products exclusively in Ghana around 2000.

Introduction of Hidria Aet Products

Lorenzo Seechi of Precision Tooling introduced Evergreen to Hidria AET, a Slovenian company that had started producing electronics and ignition parts for Stihl 070

Evergreen and its affiliates carried the following brands/suppliers.

Evergreen - Workshops, Socialization, Appraisals, Incentives Etc

During this period, Evergreen trained and worked with highly capable and efficient in-house staff and also later as dealers nationwide.

Within this same period, Evergreen instituted an award and incentive system for its high net dealers and in-house sales people.

Around the late 2000’s, global measures and acquisition of corporate entities had become the order of the day. Most of the companies that Evergreen dealt with changed owners.

For example, Precision Tooling was bought by Tecomec, Carlton Inc was taken over by a team of investors, Blount also changed ownership etc etc.

This greatly affected the exclusive distributorship rights of Evergreen as new suppliers changed their agency policies and agents in various countries.

Presently, Evergreen holds the exclusive distributorship rights for the following products in Ghana and still maintains a wide network of dealers/distributors/retailers countrywide.
